DroidDeck support is decided by the GPU. The README's rule: Android 9 or newer, with an Adreno 730 or newer or any Adreno 8xx. Adreno 6xx is experimental. Mali, Xclipse, PowerVR and Adreno 710 are unsupported.

Not sure which chip you have? Look in Settings › About phone › Processor. Rule source: the DroidDeck README.
What each status means
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Supported GPU | Your GPU is in the class the DroidDeck README supports (Adreno 730 or newer, or 8xx). Results still vary by device and game; hardware validation is limited. |
| Experimental | Adreno 6xx is experimental. DirectX 11 games use DXVK 2 and may run; DirectX 12 games can crash. |
| Not listed | This GPU is below Adreno 730 but is not named in the README either way. Expect problems; check the Discord for device reports before you rely on it. |
| Unsupported | The README lists this GPU family as unsupported (Mali, Xclipse, PowerVR or Adreno 710). DroidDeck will not run games here. |
"Supported" is about the GPU class the project targets. It is not a promise that every game runs well. Real-world results depend on the game, cooling, the driver the app installs for your chip, and the DroidDeck version. The project collects device reports on its Discord.
Chips and GPUs
Phones are sold by model name, but what matters is the chip inside and its GPU. Here are the chips people ask about, with the GPU each one uses.

Two chips deserve a note. The Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 (Adreno 725) and 7 Gen 3 (Adreno 720) sit just below the Adreno 730 line, and the README neither supports nor rules them out by name. Some websites list the 7+ Gen 2 as supported; by the README's own rule it is not, so we mark it "not listed". The Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 uses an Adreno 732, which is above the line.

Handhelds are the sweet spot
The README describes DroidDeck as bringing Steam to "your Adreno handheld", and Android gaming handhelds are where it makes the most sense: they have built-in controls, active cooling and big batteries. The AYN Odin 2 family and the Base, Pro and Max models of the AYN Thor use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and are supported, as are Retroid's newer Pocket 6 (Snapdragon 8 Gen 2) and Pocket Nova (the QCS8550, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 variant without a modem). Popular handhelds built on the Snapdragon 865, such as the Retroid Pocket 5, the Retroid Pocket Mini and the Thor Lite, fall into the experimental Adreno 6xx group, and the Dimensity 1100 version of the Retroid Pocket Flip 2 is unsupported.
Samsung: check which chip you have
Samsung sells some Galaxy models with a Snapdragon chip in one country and an Exynos chip in another. Exynos chips use AMD-based Xclipse GPUs, which DroidDeck does not support. The Galaxy S23 and S25 series use Snapdragon everywhere. The Galaxy S24 Ultra uses Snapdragon everywhere, but the S24 and S24+ use Exynos 2400 in most of Europe and many other regions. The S22 series is Snapdragon in the US and China and Exynos 2200 in Europe. To check, open Settings › About phone › Software information or install a CPU information app and read the chipset name.
Pixel, MediaTek and other phones
Google Pixel phones use Tensor chips with Mali GPUs (and PowerVR on the newest generation), so none of them can run DroidDeck. MediaTek Dimensity and Helio phones use Mali or Immortalis GPUs, also unsupported. If your phone's chip is not in the tables above, look up its GPU: anything named Adreno 730 or higher, or Adreno 8-something, matches the README's rule.
Once you know your device can run it, head to the DroidDeck install guide, or troubleshooting if it already misbehaves.
Device questions
Does DroidDeck work on Google Pixel phones?
No. Every Pixel uses a Google Tensor chip with a Mali or PowerVR GPU, and the README lists both as unsupported.
Does DroidDeck work on Samsung Galaxy phones?
Only on Snapdragon models with a supported Adreno GPU. The Galaxy S23 and S25 series use Snapdragon worldwide; the S24 and S24+ and the S22 series use Exynos in many regions, which is unsupported. Check Settings › About phone › Software information or a CPU info app.
Does DroidDeck work on MediaTek or Dimensity phones?
No. MediaTek chips use Mali or Immortalis GPUs, which the README lists as unsupported.
My Snapdragon 865 handheld is listed as experimental. What does that mean?
Adreno 6xx support arrived in 0.3.2 and is experimental: DirectX 11 games use DXVK 2 and may run, while DirectX 12 games can crash.
My device has a supported GPU. Will every game run?
No. The README says compatibility and performance vary by device and that hardware validation is limited. A supported GPU means DroidDeck is built for it, not that every game is playable.
How we check this data
The support rule comes from the DroidDeck README. Which chip a device uses, and which GPU a chip uses, we check against launch coverage and spec sheets before listing it. Last full check: 2026-10-15. Sources we used include:
- Samsung chips by region: SamMobile, Android Authority (Galaxy S25), Tom's Guide (Z Fold7 / Z Flip7).
- Gaming phones: GSMArena (ROG Phone 8), GSMArena (RedMagic 9 Pro), PhoneArena (OnePlus 11 / ROG Phone 7).
- Handhelds: RetroSpecGame (AYN Thor), Retro Catalog (Retroid Pocket 5), Time Extension (Retroid Pocket Flip 2), Retroid (Pocket 6), Retroid (Pocket Nova) and HeldGames (Pocket Nova chip).
- Chips and GPUs: Notebookcheck processor pages, and Wikipedia (Google Tensor).
